Trip to Utah

We headed up to Utah for a quick week end trip the first weekend of August for Aaron's sister, Miriam's wedding. We had a great time hanging with friends and family.

Happy Birthday Aaron

Aaron turned 37 yesterday! To celebrate, his sister Sarah, and her family came over Sunday with a cake. Her b-day is a week later, so we did a combined cake. They had a manly pink cake with a water skier on top! Then, on Monday, our family went to the ski lake. Not so great. First, I had to work at 2:30 so our morning trips to the lake are quick. Second, Aaron has had a horrible ski season so far, injured back, new ski, new lake, no good friends (yet). And, worst of all, pulling him up on his second set, I discovered just how unforgiving the bottom of the lake is. I heard & felt the boat drag across what must have been rocks. Lets just say, Aaron will be getting a new prop for his birthday :(

Our new house

This is our new bathroom

We are under-contract for our new home in Arizona. How wonderful it will be to have more than one bathroom again. Also, we will be able to get the matresses off the floor! Here's some picts of our fancy apt. and our new home. I will be leaving Utah May 2 to start a job may 4th. The family will come down 3 weeks later so they can finish most of the school year. So bitter-sweet:(

The Woes of Apartment Life

Well, we moved out of our house. We left 6 years of memories, packed up all our stuff, and now we are apartment dwellers.
Top 3 reasons to be great-ful for a house:
3)We were happy to find a place with a washer and dryer until we did the first load and discovered our fancy washing machine fits 3 towels. Beautiful!! Luckily, the dryer only takes 3 hours to dry said 3 towels, so that's good news.
2)Our one bathroom is the size of a toilet stall at the mall. There are marks where the door hits the toilet when shutting the door.
and the top reason to thank your lucky stars you have more that 800 sq ft of living area-
1)The bathroom vent doesn't work. Malodor permeates the entire premises. We've been required to evacuate a time or two for the safety of all involved!!!
Good Times !

Well, moving plans are moving on. Whats that, you missed the big announcement? We're moving to Phoenix. Well Queen Creek actually- as that is closer to the ski lake. The big news of the week is that we sold our house- well hopefully, nothing is over til the paperwork, but it's "under contract." Only 4 days on the market and . . . we'll see! So that leaves us doing things we never expected! We are apartment shopping- begging someone to let us stay the 3 months until the kids are out of school. As it turns out, people aren't too excited to rent short term. If things turn out as planned, we will be closing on this house the end of February and moving to an apartment- 2 spacious bedrooms and 1 beautiful bath. We can relive the newly wed glory days!

Lake Powell is our most favoritist place to be. We go every year in October, which is perfect because the air is cooler and the water is still warmish. This year Rachel's 2 newlywed brothers and 2 new sisters in law were able to join us. We had a great time!! October is awesome for hiking around to see Lake Powell in all her grandeur.
